The Use of Biomarkers in the Assessment of CVD Risk: 2011 Update
  1. Distinguish between a risk factor and a risk marker
  2. Define the term incremental risk
  3. List 3 mechanisms by which biomarker measurement may improve health outcomes
Familial Hyperlipidemia: Identification and Optimal Treatment
  1. Describe the prevalence of Familial Hyperlipidemia (FH)
  2. Identify the familial disorders and clinical features/diagnostic criteria
  3. Discuss current therapeutic approaches and outcomes
Management of Dyslipidemia in Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease
  1. Identify common lipid abnormalities seen in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD)
  2. Review the study evidence for use of statin therapy in patients with kidney disease
  3. Cite the need for close follow-up and careful titration of dyslipidemic agents in patients with CKD
