Partnering Professionals for CVD Prevention

PCNA Mentoring Program

Welcome to PCNA’s Partnering Professionals for CVD Prevention (P3)!  This new program was launched to promote the development and exercise the leadership skills of cardiovascular nurses.  Being mentored and mentoring should be a lifelong activity to enhance career success.  Many successful leaders are mentors, and many are still being mentored.

Who are P3 mentors?

P3 mentors are PCNA Fellows, recognized leaders in cardiovascular prevention who have made significant contributions to clinical practice, education, policy, and research.  They are committed to the mission of PCNA and are willing to share their expertise to promote the career development of other cardiovascular nurses.

How are mentors and mentees partnered?

Mentees are asked to search the P3 database of available mentors and select two mentors based on their profile and potential to meet the mentees needs.  The P3 Steering Committee will match mentees with a selected mentor and initiate introduction by email.  The mentee will be responsible for organizing the first meeting and driving the relationship forward.  For more information about the P3 program and tips for a successful mentoring relationship, please review the P3 Mentoring Handbook.

Types of mentoring available in the P3 Program:
